This and That

For the first time in several years we did nothing for the 4th of July. We normally set off our own fireworks and in the past we've watched the fireworks that Emerald Point does (about 5 minutes from our house), but this year we just stayed home. I didn't feel like going anywhere and the kids didn't even bring it up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This past Monday, July 3rd, shortly before midnight, marks one year since Evie Lynn died. It's hard to believe she's been gone that long. She was so sweet and funny and affectionate. We still miss her and talk about her. Sam's been dead for six months. Also hard to believe. I miss my sweet boy.
Sweet, silly Evie Lynn.
 Sweet Baby Boo, Sam.
Sean takes his third test this afternoon. I hope and pray he passes. Just one more test after that and then hopefully he can enroll in the aviation mechanics course. We're not sure where the money is going to come from for that. We don't have it and Charlie doesn't want Sean to take out a student loan (though it would be 10s of thousands less than what it costs for a student loan for a regular/non-community college college), so I'm praying that God will work something out. It'd be great if he could find some kind of on-the-job training situation or something. The husband of a Facebook friend said something about the aviation company he works for hiring people with little to no experience and training them as mechanics, electricians, technicians, etc. It'd be great if we could find something like that for Sean.
I've made some purchases since my last entry.
I had a pair of nude heels already, but they were T-straps (not the best look on my short legs) and had gold metal links on the T-strap part. I was kind of tired of them and had been looking for new nude heels for a long time. I got these heels at Belk. Regular price almost $90; I paid about $81 after tax.
I got this skirt (I think it's by Nine West) at Stein Mart for about $40 before tax. Click to enlarge.
Nine West dress from Belk. Regular price about $90. I got it on sale for $45.
Style & Co. dress from Macy's. Regular price about $99.50. I paid about $30.
 I got this at Macy's for about $13.
Cross-body purse from JC Penney. I got it to replace one I had that was falling apart (the lining was separating). Originally $45, I think I paid about $20.
I got this (Worthington?) white shrug at JC Penney. On sale for about $20.
I got this Westbound shirt and the pink one below at Dillard's for $26 before tax. It's been difficult to find plain shirts. I don't know why designers are creating printed and patterned (lace, etc.) tops and printed and patterned skirts. You can't wear those together. It clashes. Almost every top and almost every skirt I own are printed or patterned. :-/ I hope I can find some plain skirts sometime.
I'd like to go back and get the red one and the white one this weekend.
I got this shirt at Dillard's for $29. I'd like to get the navy one and the aqua/turquoise one (which doesn't have the crisscross on the shoulders) this weekend, if they still have my size.
This and That
Sunday, April 9th, was Sean's 20th birthday. Charlie took him to a swap meet/car show and a drag race a couple days before his birthday. We also got him a few video games and a UNC Tar Heels championship T-shirt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Loki's doing great in our family. He's got a lot of that kitten energy, which is fun and cute, but I'll also be glad when that phase passes. lol Pippin doesn't like him much and mostly tries to avoid him. He doesn't like how Loki tries to pounce him or swat him, but it sure makes us laugh. Milo loves playing with him. We figured he would. He always loved playing with Sam. Sadie (who turned 15 last month) hates him, just as she hates all other animals. lol So, no surprise there.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm a member of a large, secret group at Facebook that's all about movies, books, and actors we enjoy. A series of books has suddenly become popular with us and many of us are reading them. The Fever series. There are nine books. I'm on book five. I haven't been getting much sleep thanks to these books. lol They've really sucked me in.
New purchases since my last entry:
Dress Barn. $32.
Dress Barn. $24.
Dress Barn. $24.
I was especially glad to find the solid tops. Seems like most tops (and skirts) I find and own have prints or patterns. It's nice to have a couple tops with no print or pattern (other than the little bit of detail at the neck) to wear with a few of my print skirts.
Goodbye, Sweet Sammy
 Sam
April 26, 2006 - January 2, 2017
On January 2nd, 2017, we lost our cat Sam. I mentioned this in my previous entry, but have put off writing about it because it's so painful. I will try to get through this without crying. I doubt I succeed.
In early to mid December, Sam looked thinner than normal, but I just figured he was being finicky since eating some turkey around Thanksgiving and wanted people food more than his own food.
Sometime around the week of Christmas I noticed he was eating little to nothing at all. I changed his food and he ate a pretty good amount of it that first serving, but then stopped eating again. So then we tried canned food, but he would only lick the gravy. Then I got desperate and tried giving him anything I thought he might like (shredded cheese, bacon, milk) just to get some food in him and he ate a little bit of it, but not nearly enough and his appetite didn't improve.
Thursday, December 29th, I brought him to the vet and they checked his blood, urine, etc. It didn't look good. UTI, possible thyroid issues, possible liver problems. The results of the blood work came back the next day. Thyroid was fine, but he had pancreatitis and liver problems. They wanted me to bring him to the emergency vet that evening (they open at 6:00 PM) and have them put in a feeding tube and treat his pancreas and liver.
It was hard bringing him there and leaving him. I missed him right away, but believed that they could get him better. I called the vet that night, a few times on Saturday, and a few times on Sunday. One of his liver values (whatever that is) was slightly improving, but one remained the same and another (bilirubin) continued to get worse.
His liver was failing. He probably had fatty liver disease.
On Monday morning, January 2nd, Charlie, Kelly, and I went to the emergency vet to get Sam. We thought, based on what one person we talked to there told us, that there was a chance we could treat him at home (feed him through the feeding tube, give him his medicine) and that eventually he would get better. Could be weeks or even months, but he could get better, we thought. But we were told something different when we got there. They told us he was too sick to go home and needed more 24-hour care at a special hospital.
We brought Sam to our regular vet (the emergency vet told us to take Sam directly to our regular vet) and she looked at the paperwork from the emergency vet and brought Sam to the back. She wasn't optimistic. She said the same thing the emergency vet said about needing 24-hour care at a special hospital and that it could take weeks or longer. Which would cost us thousands of dollars a week (money we don't have) and he still may not ever get better.
She said they could do some blood work to see if there was any improvement since the previous morning (the last time his blood had been checked), but even if there had been improvement, we didn't have the money to continue treatment. And since there was no guarantee, and really a very small chance, that he would get better, we didn't really see that we had any other choice. We decided against having his blood checked again and made the horrible, painful choice to have him to put to sleep.
I broke down crying, as I'd done several times while he was at the emergency vet because I had a feeling after talking to them on Saturday morning that he wouldn't get better. It broke my heart to have to do this to my sweet boy.
Kelly was crying too.
They brought Charlie and I to a back room to spend some time with Sam and say goodbye. Kelly stayed in the exam room. I guess she couldn't bring herself to say goodbye to him.
He still had the feeding tube in his neck and a cone around his head, so I wasn't able to hug him like I wanted to. I just kind of laid my head on his back. I petted him a lot, kissed him several times, talked to him. Told him how much I loved him and always would. That he would always be my sweet baby boy, my Boo Boo, my Sugar Booger. I cried a lot. Went through a lot of tissues. He rubbed my hands with his chin many times; something he always loved doing. And he looked at me with those big, sweet eyes full of love for me, like he always did. It made it that much harder to say goodbye with him being his usual sweet self. How can I put my baby to sleep when he's acting like his normal self?
I spent about 30-45 minutes with him. I would've spent more time with him than that, but we could see how uncomfortable he was with that cone and feeding tube. He wanted to lay down, but the cone prevented him. And he kept wanting to scratch his left ear, but couldn't get to it. (How long had it been itching with no one to scratch it for him? All weekend?) So Charlie and I scratched it for him.
I never felt ready to call the vet in to get him and take him away to put him to sleep. I was never ready to say goodbye. But as I said, we could see that he wasn't comfortable and Charlie finally said (after I'd told him that a couple times I'd thought about having them come get him, but then I'd cry again because I couldn't do it) he'd go get the vet.
I told Sam that I was sorry that he was so sick, sorry that we couldn't get him better (cats hide when they're sick, often until it's too late), and sorry that we had to have him put to sleep. I told him I love him over and over and that I would miss him so much.
When the vet came in, we talked awhile about Sam (how sweet he is, different things about him) and about our other pets. I told her about how we'd just lost our cat Evie six months ago. And just different cute and funny things about all our pets.
One final goodbye pet, one final look. Charlie went to the front desk to take care of the bill and I walked out to the car with Kelly. I cried as I left the vet's office, cried in the car several times, and have cried every day since.
Sam (full name Samwise Gamgee, after the character in The Lord of the Rings) was the sweetest cat in the world. He was a total mama's boy. If he wasn't sleeping, eating, or using the litter box, he had to be wherever I was. Often right on top of me. He loved snuggling up to me, sleeping next to me or on me. Whenever I was in the kitchen cooking, he would either lie on the back of the couch facing the kitchen to watch me, or he'd sit on the kitchen floor and watch me.
When I would do the dishes, he would lie on the carpet in front of the kitchen and watch me until I was done or he fell asleep.
I'll miss him always being there with me. Always watching me. Always wanting to rub on me or be petted by me or Kelly. He loved attention, loved affection. He loved being held, hugged, kissed, petted.
He had such sweet meows and such sweet big eyes. I could tell when he looked at me that he loved me. He wanted nothing more than to be with me (if he wasn't with Kelly or sleeping) and to be loved and shown affection.
I had a lot of nicknames for him. In addition to Sweet Baby Boy, Sugar Booger, and Boo Boo, I also called him Sammy, Sammy Sam, Sam Wham, the sweetest baby alive, Skinny-Butted Bow-legged Crooked Runner, Sweeter, Samber, Samber Whamber (Charlie called him Sammer Whammer), Sam Wham Alabam, Sweet Baby, Baby Boo. There may be others I'm not thinking of at the moment.
His death has left an empty place in my life. I have no fur baby to cuddle with or who is affectionate towards me like Sam was. Milo (Charlie's Jack Russell) growls at me when I pick him up (though I pick him up anyway lol), Pippin (our toy poodle) has horrible breath and drools because his tongue hangs out (I don't want to hold him, though he's a very sweet dog), and Sadie (our black cat, who will be 15 in April) doesn't like to be held, hugged, or kissed. She will hiss, growl, bite, and/or scratch if you pick her up. She is not a lap cat. lol But she does love to be petted and seeks out affection from us. Since Evie and Sam have died, she comes around a lot more, wants our attention more, and is more vocal.
We would love to go to the shelter and get a kitten, but it wouldn't be fair to Sadie. She's an old lady and doesn't deserve the stress of a new pet. She's never liked any of our other pets. And I like that we see her more (a new kitty would drive her away again and we wouldn't see her as much) and can have more interaction with her. As much as I'd love to get a new kitty, I have to think of Sadie. I don't know how much time we have left with her. She could die this year or she could be one of those cats that lives a long time. After having Sam put to sleep, I told Sadie that she had to live for at least another year or two. I don't want to lose another pet so soon after Evie and Sam.
Our dog Pippin will be 12 on March 31st. He won't live much longer either. A couple more years at most.
One thing I've learned from this (besides don't give your pets people food at all, unless it's approved by the vet) is that if you're going to have more than one pet, adopt them far apart in age. That way you don't lose them back to back. Or rather, you have a better chance of not losing them close together. Some die young. Our cat Witty was just seven when he died in 2002.
I'm going to end this blog entry with some of my favorite pictures of Sam.
September 24, 2006. Five months old. We'd had him a couple days or so when this was taken.
October 17, 2006. Almost 6 months old.
December 11, 2006. About 7½ months old.
September 14, 2008. 2 years old.
March 2, 2009. Almost 3 years old.
November 23, 2014. 8 years old. Snuggling with Kelly.
February 26, 2015. Almost 9 years old. Lying near my face. It was a difficult picture to take.
December 2016. 10 years old. This is the spot he would lie on to watch me cook in the kitchen.
December 25, 2016. 10 years old. The last picture I took of him.
Sam's paw prints. I got this from the vet this past Monday.
The regular vet and the emergency vet both sent us sympathy cards.
Kelly, Our Evening, and Something Unbelievable
When Kelly got up yesterday, her temperature was around 100.7°. Naturally I would've preferred her temperature be normal, and she did feel uncomfortable, but she was feeling better than she was when her temperature was hitting 103° and higher.
The kids and I eventually got out of the house around 4:00 PM. By then Kelly's temperature had dropped some. We went to Petsmart first for dog food and visited the cats as we always do. They're so sweet.
Then it was on to Target and Food Lion. Kelly was walking slower than usual of course because she's still a little sick, but she did fine and there was hardly any moaning. By that night she was doing quite a bit better. Her appetite is slowly coming back. We had picked up a pizza from Mario's and Kelly only ate one bite, but a few hours later she ate some Frosted Mini Wheats.
While we were eating our pizza, we put in the second X-Men movie. I was feeling very tired and try as I might, I could not stay awake. I fell asleep about an hour or so into the movie. When I woke up, Sean was playing a video game. Something about fighter jets.
I let the kids stay up a little longer so they could see some of the Olympics we had missed (speed skating) and then sent them on to bed. Kelly's temperature was down to about 99.3°. I reckon it'll be normal eventually. But thank God it appears the worst is behind us.
------------------------
Now, for something I just had to share. We have three cats - Sadie, Evie and Sam. Sadie is a nearly 8-years-old black female. Sam is a nearly 4-years-old tan and black tabby male and our youngest cat. (Evie is a 7-year-old black and white female.) Sadie hates Sam. Always has. She charges at him and swipes at him at least once a day. She has shown absolutely no interest in being friends with Sam, or Evie or Pippin, our toy poodle, for that matter. She'd probably be overjoyed if she suddenly became the only pet in our house.
So imagine my surprise, nay shock, when Sadie jumped up into the chair where Sam was sleeping and instead of jumping right back down as she normally would, this happened:
A couple moments of uncertainty.
Lasers on!!
Sadie settles down. Sam can't believe she's there.
Sadie decides to get settled and sleep. Sam still can't believe she's there.
Evie looks on in disbelief.
But loses interest quickly and goes back to sleep.
Sam still feels unsure about things.
He finally lays his head down, but keeps his eyes open just in case.
Eventually Sam gives in and they're both sleeping. Their butts are even touching and Sadie isn't having a fit over it.
It's been over an hour and they're both still sleeping together. Unbelievable. I don't expect this to ever happen again though. I'm sure Sadie still hates Sam. She probably just really wanted to sleep in that chair, Sam or no Sam.
New Sheets and High Cats
The kids and I spent New Year's Eve at home. We watched some TV and saw the ball drop. I got a little choked up and had to hold back my tears as I saw people kissing the New Year in. I wish Charlie had been here to kiss the New Year in with me. :-(
We got groceries yesterday. After which we pic
ked up a pizza for supper from Mario's and brought it home. I then fell asleep on the couch watching TV (shocker) and woke up about an hour later to Sean playing a video game.
I had a little chunk of money left over from Christmas, so the kids and I went to Target today so that I could buy some sheet
s for my bed. I bought the same sheets (Mon Ami, by Simply Shabby Chic) for my daughter either for her last birthday (February '09) or for Christmas the year before. I thought they were so pretty and comfortable that I wanted some just like them, but I figured Charlie wouldn't want to sleep on pink sheets with little pink flowers on them. When I had mentioned this to him, he said that he didn't care what the sheets look like as long as there are sheets on the bed. lol So today I bought them. Now I just need to buy the quilt that goes with them. It's $100 before taxes though, so it may be a few weeks.
Target also has a set of sheets with blue stripes on them that I'd like to get. They too are by Simply Shabby Chic.
Our cat Sam never uses either of the cat condos we have in our house for scratching. He likes to scratch boxes and books. :-/ This morning he woke me up scratching on the spines of my photo albums (his first time as far as I know; there is no damage that I can see), which sit on the bottom shelf of my bookcase. *insert angry face here*
So when the kids and I went to Target today, I also bought a scratch pad for Sam. It lays on the floor and is made of cardboard, just like the boxes Sam likes to scratch. The scratch pad came with a packet of cat nip, which I sprinkled and rubbed into the cardboard. Sadie was the first to investigate. She looooved it. She was rubbing it and laying on it. Evie was next to investigate and had the same reaction. I hope they don't develop a nip addiction. Sam looked at them like, "What is wrong with you?" because apparently cat nip doesn't affect him the same way. He sniffed at the nip-laced scratch pad and walked away. He probably would've shrugged if he could have.
I've had a somewhat lazy day today. In addition to going to Target, I've been doing laundry and will clean the kitchen soon. Hopefully I can get the tree and other Christmas decor taken down and put away in the next couple days. That's right. The tree is still up.
School starts back on Monday. The kids are dreading it and looking forward to it at the same time. So am I. I hate early mornings and I do still worry about my kids when they're not with me (does that ever go away?), but I also want them to be educated and prepared for adulthood.
My Other "Children"
I thought I would introduce my furry babies. They don't get mentioned much in my blog and I've posted pictures of a couple of them once. I adore my pets and I'd like to share them with anyone who reads my blog.
This is Sadie May. She's our oldest cat and oldest pet. She turns 7 this month. We got her on September 19, 2002, three days after our cat Kenya (aka Witty), an orange tabby, died at the age of 7. (He had a bleeding tumor in his intestines.) It broke my heart when he died. He was a great cat. I couldn't stand not having a cat anymore. I missed the swishing tail, the meows, the running fits, the purring. We went to the shelter to get another cat and as I was looking in a cage below Sadie's, I felt something touching my head. I said, "What was that?". Charlie laughed and pointed at this black kitten (she was about 5½ months old) and said that it was her. Well, we had to pick her since she had chosen us.
Sadie (aka Satan) is an evil cat, but she loves her mommy. She seems to have mellowed a little as she's gotten older. She doesn't try to scratch or bite as much as she used to. She can be kind of touchy and particular. She doesn't like to be hugged or cuddled with. I can only do that if I pick her up. I know. Weird. She loves to get on the couch and snuggle up next to me though. She'll lay her head against my leg and purr. Aww.
She also has this weird quirk. She likes to drink water with her paw. She'll dip her paw in the water bowl and then lick the water from her paw. Strange cat.
This is Evie Lynn. (Full name Arwen Evenstar, a Lord of the Rings name.) The "dog" I got my husband for Christmas 2003. (She turned 6 in January.) The kids and I went to the shelter that December looking for a small dog for Charlie. We didn't see any that we thought would work for our family, so we decided to look at the cats. Just look. :-/ Well, we saw this sweet 11½ month old kitty that kept rubbing the cage with her head when we'd get close. When we'd put our fingers in the cage, she would rub them and purr. Instant love. We had to have her.
Evie likes to keep to herself mostly. She's always been very mellow, laid back and kind of in her own world. Sadie considers herself the boss, but Evie decided about a year or so ago that she's the boss and goes after Sadie sometimes. And does Sadie hate that! She runs away hissing as Evie chases her down and takes swipes at her. Sam doesn't care about all that. He tries to play with Evie and sometimes she'll go along. Usually she hisses and tries to get away. She prefers kisses with Sam to playing. :-)
This is Sam. (Full name Samwise Gamgee. Another LOTR name.) My baby boy. We got him at the shelter in September of 2006. (He'll be 3 on April 26th.) It's a long story how we ended up getting him, but I sure am glad we did. He is such a mama's boy, a real sweetie. He loves to snuggle up to me wherever I am, sleep on my lap while I'm on the couch, sleep close to me in the bed at night. He also loves to lick, which can get old real quick.
He's a very active and playful kitty. His favorite playmate is our dog Pippin. They chase each other all over the house. Sam likes to leap over Pip, but sometimes he doesn't quite clear Pip's back and ends up landing on top of him. This doesn't bother Pippin. Pippin likes to try to nip at Sam's ears, but he usually misses.
Like Sadie, Sam has a weird quirk of his own. He likes to lick the curtains sometimes. I guess he likes the taste and/or feel of the material. When I see him doing it, I make him stop. I don't want cat spit on my curtains.
And last, but not least, our toy poodle Pippin. (Full name Peregrin Took. Yes, another LOTR name.) His name really suits him. Pippin is a Hobbit in the Lord of the Rings. Hobbits are short with curly or wavy hair, like toy poodles. Our Pip is also kind of funny and foolish like the LOTR Pip. :-)
I bought Pippin from a breeder in March of 2005 and we brought him home in May of 2005. (Pippin turned 4 on March 31st.) He was such a cute little ball of fluff when he was a puppy. He's grown up to be a very submissive and mostly obedient dog. He's also very playful and loves people. So much so that if anyone ever tried to break in he'd just greet them as he greets everyone else.
Pippin's favorite person is probably Charlie (aka Daddy). He is just beside himself with pure joy when Daddy comes home. It's very cute to see. He's pretty crazy about the kids and me too (and most everyone else who comes over lol), but I'm the boss. So he is quick to back off if I don't want him jumping on me. I suppose he views it as a special treat when I actually let him lay in my lap when I'm on the couch. I don't do that much. He's a good dog though and I'm glad I got him. Especially for the kids. Every kid needs a dog and/or cat to love. :-)
Books, Sickly Sam, DH, School, Update
When we get our new house, I want one of the rooms set up as a library. Built-in bookcases, desk, globe, artwork, oriental rug, and lots of beautiful books. The Biltmore library is my inspiration. To that end, I've been buying hardcover books to replace my paperbacks. They're classy, more attractive and just last longer. The covers of some of my paperbacks are showing signs of wear.
I recently bought hardcover editions of the LOTR trilogy (1 big book), The Hobbit, the complete works of Jane Austen (two volumes), The Count of Monte Cristo, Wuthering Heights, five novels of Charles Dickens (in one book; I didn't have these at all before), and Little Women. (I already had The Iliad, The Odyssey, Jane Eyre, Anna Karenina, Vanity Fair, Madame Bovary, the Twilight saga [though the first is paperback], Cold Mountain and the complete works of Shakespeare in hardcover.)
I next plan to buy a hardcover edition of Gone With the Wind and eventually get hardcovers of Les Miserables, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Ivanhoe, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Scarlett, The Silmarillion and The Scarlett Letter. Books I already have in paperback. There are many more that I don't have that I want to get, of course in hardcover.
The International Collectors Library has beautiful leather-bound books that I've added to my wish list at Amazon. I already have a few leather-bound books that I bought at an antique store in Southport while on vacation in June. Madame Bovary, Vanity Fair and Anna Karenina. As well as a faux leather-bound book of the complete works of Shakespeare.
The books I have on my wish list at Amazon by the ICL are Aesop's Fables, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Scarlett Letter, War and Peace, Poems of Byron, Keats and Shelley, and Ivanhoe.
Once I get all my paperbacks replaced by hardcovers, there are many more books I want to get and they will be in hardcover. Hemingway, Steinbeck, maybe Dostoyevsky, McCullough (mainly John Adams), Wharton, Joyce, Wilde, James, Cather, etc.
I saw a beautiful leather-bound (probably faux) book of the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe and thought about buying it, but his stories are so creepy and morbid. I'm not really a fan of those kinds of stories.
Anyway, that was probably boring to anyone who sees this. lol Moving on.
Sam (one of my cats) has been kind of sick lately. He hasn't had a BM in about 3 or 4 days and I was really worried. He's been in and out of his litter box a lot and hasn't done anything. Giving him milk, as the vet's office suggested, didn't help. So I had to bring him to the vet today. Turns out he has a bladder infection and the reason he hasn't had any BMs is because it hurts to strain. Of all the things that could've been wrong, this is about the best thing. Urinary tract disease could kill him in less than a week and constipation or an obstruction could probably kill him if left untreated. The treatment for both would be more involved and would cost more. As it is, I just have to give him medicine (in a dropper) twice a day for about a week.
Thank God it isn't more serious. I couldn't take losing Sam. (Or any of my babies.) He's my baby. The sweetest, most affectionate cat I've ever known.
Charlie's been in Houston (his hotel is actually in Humble) since Sunday. He has school all week. He's supposed to be home on Saturday. I miss him.
The kids started school today. They were very excited. Kelly said she felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest. lol My mom picked them up from school and they're still at her house. They should be home soon.
We met their teachers yesterday and found out where their classes are. Sean has a male teacher this year. He's from California. Hopefully he can keep Sean's attention and be a good motivator. Kelly's teacher is the same one Sean had in 2nd grade before they moved him to another class because that class was a little crowded. Everyone speaks well of her and seems to really like her.
Got some news from our realtor. The couple who was supposed to have looked at our house this past Friday didn't even go in. They heard our dog barking and were afraid. lol Pippin is a toy poodle who loves people (he doesn't know a stranger) and was in his carrier. Maybe they thought he would quickly gnaw his way out of his carrier and kill them right there in the doorway. Their realtor tried to get them to go in but they refused. So our realtor told their realtor that they could come another time and the dog wouldn't be here. He said, "no". lol People are weird.
Our realtor also told me that that man who likes our house is still trying to make a decision. I had pretty much given up on him. I hope he chooses our house and makes a fair offer. I know I keep saying that. lol
North Carolina has been in a pretty bad drought for a couple years now. Thanks to Faye, we're getting some much needed rain this week. They're forecasting around 3 inches for our area.
